Whitehorse Glacier Bears Swim Club Travel Fund

In an effort to promote attendance primarily at AA and AAA meets the Board of the Whitehorse Glacier Bears Swim Club (WGBSC) has approved funding for swimmers. This policy is contingent on funds being available and will be reviewed annually by the Board. The criteria and basis for funding approval is as follows:

1. Funding is restricted to attendance at:
   a) AA and AAA swim meets and
   b) a designated* (by the Board) invitational swim meet per fiscal year
2. The lesser of a maximum of $200 per swimmer per qualifying meet or 50% of airfare will be approved. Gas receipts will also be accepted from Yukon to the swim meet location. (100% Points tickets are not eligible, combination tickets, points and dollars, are eligible with this section applying to the dollar value.)
3. Swimmers may only apply and be awarded funds once per WGBSC fiscal year (Sept. 1-Aug. 31)
4. Swimmers must apply prior to the swim meet, then supply an airline ticket or (gas receipts) as proof of attendance to the WGBSC
5. Applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis up to the level of funds approved by the Board

*  Board designated invitational swim meets (SC) for 2011-2012 season:

-swimmer eligible for $200 by attending Christmas Cracker Invitational swim meet in Victoria, BC, Dec. 2011 or, 

-swimmer eligible for $100 by attending Dino Cup swim meet in Calgary, AB, March 2012
